The Team
Ask Melissa Lindsay when she was bitten by the design bug and the Darien native will tell you it’s in her genes. The FIT graduate was strongly influenced by her grandmother, an artist and interior designer of the Princeton Club. After graphic design stints at Vogue and New York, as well as positions at top interior design firms, Pimlico proved the perfect fit. When Lindsay isn’t overseeing the shop or consulting clients at Pimlico Interiors, she’s fantasizing about creating a modern getaway in New Zealand.
You can’t describe Stamford native Jill Saunders without the words "people person" topping the list. "My favorite part of this business is the clients," says Saunders, who worked in education and law before finding her niche in design. Saunders first remembers being educated in interiors by a friend’s mother. "She taught me that decorating isn’t filling a room with things, but creating an atmosphere." It’s a philosophy she imparts to customers: "You should always feel happy when you walk through your front door."
